WHAT WE TEACH

WHAT WE LEARN

Our Arts & Services

Six interconnected disciplines drawn from ancient Tamil tradition — each complete in itself, woven into a unified system of combat, healing, and self-mastery.

01

Silambam

WEAPON ART · STAFF COMBAT

Silambam is one of the oldest martial arts in the world, rooted in ancient Tamil warrior culture. Practiced with a bamboo staff, this art develops extraordinary footwork, rhythm, and spatial awareness. Practitioners learn to generate power through rotation and deception — making it both an effective fighting system and a moving meditation.

Our instruction follows the authentic Paraaparakkanni lineage, teaching both foundational patterns and advanced combat applications. Suitable for all ages, Silambam builds concentration, coordination, and physical fitness alongside its martial dimension.

  • Dynamic footwork and full-body mechanics

  • Staff techniques, spins, and combat sequences

  • Reaction time and spatial intelligence

  • Discipline, focus, and physical conditioning

02

Varma Kalai

VITAL POINT SCIENCE · ADVANCED PRACTICE

Varma Kalai is the crown jewel of Tamil martial knowledge — a sophisticated system of pressure-point science mapping 108 vital points (varmam) on the human body. Applied through precise touch, it can neutralize an opponent in combat or restore the flow of life energy in a therapeutic context.

This art is introduced progressively and requires foundational training. The same knowledge that underpins combat application also powers Siddha Varma Medicine — making it uniquely dual in nature: a warrior science and a healing science simultaneously.

  • Anatomical study of the 108 vital points

  • Offensive and defensive applications

  • Therapeutic touch and energy restoration

  • Integration with breath and concentration

03

Kuthu Varisai

EMPTY-HAND COMBAT

Often considered the mother of South Asian empty-hand fighting systems, Kuthu Varisai is a complete unarmed combat art from Tamil Nadu. It integrates striking, kicking, grappling, and acrobatic elements into a fluid, aggressive system designed for real-world application.

Unlike sport-focused martial arts, Kuthu Varisai retains its original battlefield character. Students learn not only technique but the warrior mindset — decisiveness, explosive power, and calm under pressure.

  • Striking: punches, elbows, palm strikes

  • Kicks, sweeps, throws, and takedowns

  • Combat sequences (marai) and partner drilling

  • Traditional conditioning methods

04

Adimurai

ANCIENT STRIKING ART

Adimurai — "the way of hitting" — is a foundational Tamil striking art that forms the combat backbone of the Tamil warrior tradition. Deeply integrated with knowledge of the varmam points, each strike targets anatomical precision over brute force.

Training in Adimurai develops the ability to generate devastating power from close range, making it a vital complement to Silambam and Kuthu Varisai in our full curriculum.

  • Anatomically-targeted striking techniques

  • Close-range power generation

  • Integration with Varma point knowledge

  • Partner drills and combat application

05

Vasi Yogam

BREATHING MASTERY · INNER POWER

Vasi Yogam is the inner science of the Tamil Siddha tradition — the systematic cultivation and direction of vital breath (vasi) to develop extraordinary physical endurance, mental clarity, and spiritual awareness. It is the hidden engine behind the power and longevity of Tamil masters.

Where external arts train the body, Vasi Yogam trains the subtle body — the breath, the nervous system, and the energy body. Practitioners enter states of deep concentration that amplify the effectiveness of every other art in the curriculum.

  • Pranayama and advanced breath retention

  • Energy circulation and internal awareness

  • Warrior meditation and mental fortitude

  • Direct integration with physical practice

THERAPEUTIC PRACTICE

Siddha Varma Medicine

Beyond combat, Varma knowledge forms the basis of one of the world's most effective traditional healing systems. Private treatments are conducted by the Master, drawing on generations of clinical lineage knowledge. Patients are seen by appointment only.
