THE SCHOOL
Ruthranaagam was established in 2011 with a singular mission: to bring the authentic, unbroken tradition of Tamil martial arts to Canada. Not a recreation. Not a performance. A living practice, transmitted the way it has always been transmitted.

We are one of the very few institutions in North America teaching these arts in their complete, authentic form. Many of the disciplines we preserve are endangered even within Tamil Nadu. By training here, students participate in something larger than personal development — they participate in cultural survival.

OUR VALUES
Authenticity
We teach only what has been transmitted through verified lineage. No hybrid systems, no commercial shortcuts. The arts as they were — as they are.
Wholeness
Combat without healing is incomplete. Healing without spiritual grounding is limited. We hold the entire system and teach it as one unified path.
Preservation
The Tamil martial tradition is at risk. Every student who trains here carries the knowledge forward. Training here is an act of cultural stewardship.
